Sewage pumping stations are designed to be robust – but that doesn’t mean you can take them for granted. Even the best quality systems need care and attention and, in order to optimise their performance, it’s a good idea to have a pump station maintenance plan in place.
3 reasons to invest in pump station maintenance
If there’s a blockage or defect, the sewage pumping station has to work much harder to do the same job – and this can lead to an increase in both power usage and running costs. Pump station maintenance offers the chance to spot and fix such issues and, as a result, can help to maximise the efficiency of the system.
Regular sewage pump station maintenance has been shown to extend the lifespan of the station. It’s an opportunity to check that everything is in working order. Potential problems can be identified and dealt with and – by replacing parts when required – excessive wear and tear can be prevented.
Less emergency call-outs
If something goes wrong with your sewage pump system, emergency call-outs can be both difficult to arrange and costly. Regular pump station maintenance is an easy way to avoid these ‘emergencies’. After all, prevention is better than cure and it could save you a lot of money.
How can JT Pumps help?
Here at JT Pumps, we believe that maintenance is the key to optimising the performance of your sewage pumping station. It’s not a good idea to simply install it and leave it to do its job. Even if it’s a top-quality model, it will need regular maintenance and you should take a number of steps to care for it properly.
We currently offer two services to help with pumping station maintenance. These include:
Once your new pumping station is in place, our team can visit your site and complete full commissioning works. We will check the connections and wires, add any float switches and pumps, and make sure everything is up-and-running and set up correctly. Think of this as the first maintenance check. It sets you off on the right foot and you get a commissioning certificate for your records.
We also offer an annual pump station maintenance service across England and Wales. This is for both our own products and those of other manufacturers. On average, we recommend 1-2 checks per year. One of our experienced engineers will conduct a thorough check of your sewage pumping station on-site – cleaning and emptying the tank and quickly resolving any issues that are detected.
